Infants and toddlers are at the beginning of their educational journey. Teachers manage a growing curriculum tailored to age appropriate strengths to match the quick rate of early development skills.
Smart Kids partners with Early Head Start to provide comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent engagement to families with children up to age three. For two year olds who are growing quickly and preparing for preschool, classrooms focus on developing key foundational skills to keep them on track.
Smart Kids offers a Plus-recognized, high-quality preschool program for children ages 3 to 5, held daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. As participants in Utah's High Quality School Readiness Grant, we are held to a state standard of excellence in early childhood education for children ages 3 to 5.
We maintain low teacher-to-child ratios with one teacher for every 10 children and two teachers per classroom to support more individualized learning. Our program is built on The Creative Curriculum, an evidence-based early learning framework that aligns with Utah Early Childhood Standards across all developmental domains. This approach helps children develop social-emotional competence and positive peer interactions through constructive, purposeful play in a thoughtfully designed environment.
Children also have access to free-choice learning centers for self-directed, purposeful play, as well as a daily 10-minute online learning program that provides computer-guided instruction in science, math, and language.
Designed for children ages 5 through 12, this program offers a supportive and balanced environment that mixes interactive development activities with traditional learning. Kindergarten students benefit from the We Can curriculum, Saxon Math, and Frontline Phonics to build strong reading, writing, and problem solving skills while supporting their public school education.
For school age children, the program incorporates a well rounded social emotional learning curriculum called Positive Action. This covers areas like STEM, language, arts, media, and community service while helping kids practice self management and relationship skills.
Summer camp programs are tailored for kids aged 6 through 12 and focus on helping children reach their full potential through interactive learning. The curriculum centers heavily on social awareness, emotional growth, and empathy, helping kids practice good manners and build positive relationships.
The physical environment features calm, flexible learning spaces. Campers participate in daily recreational field trips around Utah, visiting places like the Hogle Zoo, the Planetarium, Wheeler Farm, parks, museums, swimming pools and local science labs to combine fitness, science, and history with summer fun.
